Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced a new strategic partnership with Cygnett Hotels & Resorts to expand its presence in India and the surrounding region. This alliance will introduce Wyndham’s La Quinta by Wyndham and Registry Collection Hotels brands, with plans to open over 60 hotels across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal in the next decade. The first openings are expected by the end of 2026.
The collaboration comes as part of Wyndham’s efforts to address the growing travel demand in India, where domestic travel spending reached USD 186 billion last year. Leisure travel spending is anticipated to grow at an annual rate of 12%.
Dimitris Manikis, President EMEA at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, stated: “This partnership is the next chapter in Wyndham’s Eurasia growth story, with India as a key strategic market that we’ve grown alongside for decades.”
As per the agreement, more than 50 La Quinta by Wyndham hotels will be introduced through new builds and conversions across India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Registry Collection Hotels will debut under a non-exclusive agreement for ten hotels co-branded with Anamore, Cygnett’s luxury brand.
Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder & Managing Director of Cygnett Hotels & Resorts said: “Teaming up with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts gives us the scale, global recognition, and brand strength to expand rapidly.”
Wyndham’s current portfolio includes over 70 hotels in India and neighboring countries under various brands like Ramada by Wyndham and Howard Johnson by Wyndham.
