What’s new in Tennessee tourism this summer

Tennessee is gearing up for a summer filled with new attractions, experiences, and events across the state. The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development has unveiled a variety of offerings for visitors to explore.

In Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is showcasing “The Dolly Parton: Journey of a Seeker” exhibit, highlighting significant moments in Parton’s life and career. Arrington Vineyard will host its inaugural Crawfish Festival on June 14, featuring live music and Louisiana-style cuisine.

Shelbyville introduces “Wheels & Whiskey” at Nearest Green Distillery on June 28, offering a day of exotic cars, music, and food. The Smoky Mountains invite adventurers to ride America’s longest zipline and explore off-road trails.

Pigeon Forge’s interactive Jurassic Adventure features animatronic dinosaurs at The Island. Chattanooga’s Rock City opens its doors for Dog Days every Wednesday starting June 18, allowing guests to enjoy themed activities with their pets.

New accommodations include Memphis’ Hotel Pontotoc, now a luxury boutique hotel with historic charm. Nashville’s first luxury hotel in the 12 South area, The Gilmore by AvantStay, offers local perks through its “Taste the 12” program.

Franklin introduces the Sips & Spirits passport for exploring local whiskey and wine spots. Gatlinburg’s Smokin’ Banjo Wine Company offers unique wine blends along the Gatlinburg Wine Trail.

Nashville celebrates Black Music Month at the National Museum of African American Music with events honoring the city’s musical legacy. The Grand Ole Opry hosts free concerts through August 30 as part of its Summer Concert series.

Various festivals are set to take place across Tennessee this summer. Manchester hosts Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival from June 12-15. Jonesborough celebrates its annual festival from July 4-5 with parades and fireworks. Pigeon Forge marks Dollywood’s 40th anniversary with summer celebrations featuring shows and entertainment.
