At the Waldorf Astoria New York, fashion and hospitality come together in a unique way. Managing Director Luigi Romaniello has introduced a new team member wardrobe that aligns with the iconic status of the hotel.
“The way you dress is also how you feel,” said Romaniello. “And this is an important element when you are taking care of our guests. We want to usher a new era into hospitality; and along with that, it needs to come with a sense of attitude that is different.”
To bring this vision to life, Romaniello collaborated with Nicholas Oakwell, creative director of Nicholas Oakwell Couture & NO Uniform. Oakwell’s team drew inspiration from the hotel’s luxurious tradition and architectural elements, particularly the metals like platinum, golds, silvers, and bronzes found throughout the building.
“Waldorf Astoria New York has always had this legacy of fashion,” added Romaniello. “And there is something about the hotel that when you walk into the doors, you already feel like your energy’s raising a few notches.”
The new wardrobe reflects careful artistry and intention akin to couture collections. According to Romaniello, these outfits offer more than just clothing; they provide empowerment for team members.
The detailed craftsmanship showcases precision and pride emblematic of Waldorf Astoria New York’s standards. The style-forward attire aims to reveal not only fashion but also the essence of what makes Waldorf Astoria New York unique: its dedicated team members.
