A visit to Skaneateles offers a unique getaway experience with its picturesque lake and vibrant downtown. Visitors can enjoy various activities throughout the year, including the Dickens Christmas in winter, a seasonal farmers market, and the summertime Antique & Classic Boat Show.

On Friday afternoon, visitors have two notable accommodation options: Sherwood Inn and Mirbeau Inn & Spa. The Sherwood Inn, established in 1807, provides 25 elegant rooms with views of Skaneateles Lake. Alternatively, Mirbeau Inn & Spa offers luxurious guest rooms with fireplaces and oversized bathrooms.

Main Street in Skaneateles features a variety of shops and restaurants such as The Local Branch for artisan leather goods and DROOZ and Company for art and vintage items. At Clift Park, visitors can relax by the pier or explore Shotwell Memorial Park next door.

Dining at Rosalie’s Cucina is a must on Friday evening. Known for over 30 years as a local favorite, Rosalie’s serves dishes like braciole and veal piccata.

Saturday begins at Good Eats & Sips café, known for its fresh menu curated by Chef Don Agate and Marie-Hélène Gingras. Guests can then pamper themselves at Mirbeau Inn & Spa before enjoying seafood at Doug’s Fish Fry or embarking on a sightseeing cruise with Mid-Lakes Navigation Co.

Dinner at Elephant and The Dove introduces visitors to Mexican cuisine with dishes like smoked chile shrimp tacos. Later in the evening, live music at LakeHouse Pub provides entertainment until midnight.

On Sunday morning, brunch is served at The Krebs with dishes such as lobster eggs benedict. A trip to Bahar Nature Preserve offers scenic views of Carpenter Falls before concluding the visit with tastings from local vineyards or distilleries.

Travelers can reach Skaneateles by car from several major cities or fly into Syracuse Hancock International Airport located about 35 minutes away.
