Viking has announced that bookings are now open for its 2027–2028 ocean and expedition voyages. The company will offer new departures across its fleet, including on the upcoming Viking Lyra, which is expected to begin service in 2028 with routes in the Mediterranean and Scandinavia. Viking also introduced a new itinerary called “Into the Antarctic Circle,” allowing travelers to cross the Antarctic Circle while exploring Antarctica.

Torstein Hagen, Chairman and CEO of Viking, said, “Our guests are curious travelers who like to connect with the destinations they visit in a meaningful way. We have always crafted journeys that are designed to bring our guests closer to history, culture and nature in each destination—and we are pleased to offer an even wider selection of itineraries and departure dates in the years to come.”

Viking’s small all-veranda ships for ocean travel and Polar Class expedition vessels enable it to operate more than 100 itineraries across all continents. The company has received recognition from several travel publications. In 2024, Condé Nast Traveler ranked Viking #1 for Oceans, Rivers, and Expeditions for a second consecutive year. Travel + Leisure also named Viking a “World’s Best” for oceans, rivers, and expeditions in its 2025 awards. U.S. News & World Report listed Viking as Best Luxury Line, Best Line for Couples, and Best Line in the Mediterranean for four years running. Forbes Travel Guide recommended Viking’s ocean ships in its 2024 Star Awards.

From now until August 31, 2025, North American customers can take advantage of reduced fares on all-inclusive voyages through Viking’s Summer Sale promotion. This includes up to free international airfare and a $25 deposit.

Founded in 1997, Viking offers river, ocean, and lake journeys worldwide aimed at travelers interested in science, history, culture, and cuisine. More information is available at www.viking.com or by calling their toll-free number.

“Our guests are curious travelers who like to connect with the destinations they visit in a meaningful way,” said Torstein Hagen.
