Los Angeles, July 10, 2025 – Viking announced its inaugural river voyages in India with the introduction of the Viking Brahmaputra. This new vessel is currently under construction and is expected to debut in late 2027. The ship will accommodate 80 guests and sail between Guwahati and Nimati Ghat as part of a 15-day itinerary called Wonders of India.

Torstein Hagen, Chairman and CEO of Viking, stated: “With its rich heritage, deep cultural traditions and fascinating natural wonders, India is a vast and vibrant country that has captured the imagination of explorers for centuries.” He added that Viking is delighted to offer a new way for travelers to explore India’s heartland.

The Viking Brahmaputra will feature Scandinavian design with staterooms equipped with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. Amenities include a Spa & Fitness Center and an open-air Sky Bar.

The Wonders of India program will operate roundtrip from Delhi, including hotel stays in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. It features tours exploring cultural sites such as the Taj Mahal and Old Delhi’s streets. While on the Brahmaputra River, guests can visit Guwahati’s temple and Kaziranga National Park.

Viking offers various pre-and post-land extensions for additional exploration opportunities. Bookings made before July 31 may receive savings up to $5,000 per couple plus airfare from $999.
