U.S. Travel Association concluded its IPW 2025 event in Chicago, marking the end of a significant conference that brought together 6,000 delegates from 70 countries. The event aims to boost international inbound travel to the United States over the next three years.

“The total direct spending value of the travel industry in the United States is $1.3 trillion every year, and almost $200 million of that comes from international visitors,” stated Geoff Freeman, President and CEO of U.S. Travel Association. He added, “Yet over the last decade, America has lost ground in the global travel market. To reclaim our share, we must deliver a stronger, more seamless experience that meets the expectations of today’s international travelers.”

The main focus of IPW 2025 was on increasing lawful visitation to the U.S., with projections indicating that it will attract 10.9 million new visitors over three years. This influx is expected to generate $26.1 billion in spending, support 63,000 American jobs annually, and produce $3.3 billion in tax revenue.

During the three-day event, over 100,000 business appointments connected U.S. travel industry professionals with global buyers and media representatives. These interactions highlighted a wide range of American destinations.

Chicago served as this year’s host city and featured various events showcasing its culture and creativity through Choose Chicago’s efforts.

“Congratulations to the U.S. Travel Association on a spectacular IPW 2025,” said Kristen Reynolds, President and CEO of Choose Chicago. “It’s been an honor to partner with the U.S. Travel team to deliver a seamless, world-class event that showcases both Chicago and the U.S.”

Looking ahead, IPW 2026 will be hosted by Visit Lauderdale in Greater Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The U.S. Travel Association represents America’s $1.3 trillion travel industry and advocates for policies aimed at increasing travel within and to the United States.
