The Turkish Riviera, located along Türkiye’s Mediterranean coast, is attracting visitors with its natural landscapes, historical sites, and recreational opportunities. Known for its mild climate and scenic coastline, the region includes areas such as Antalya and Mersin.

Historical landmarks are a key draw. The ancient regions of Lycia, Pamphylia, and Pisidia all fall within Antalya’s borders. Many archaeological sites are accessible by sea from Antalya’s Roman harbour, including Side, Patara, Olympos, and Phaselis.

Sailing is popular in the area. Visitors can choose between yachts or traditional wooden boats called gulets to explore coves near Antalya and Mersin. The Lycian Trail from Fethiye to Antalya and the Pisidian Trail through the Taurus mountains offer trekking routes that pass various archaeological locations.

Adventure tourism options include caving, camping, biking near waterfalls and forests, as well as underwater diving to see marine life and submerged historical remains. Destinations like Kaş and Kalkan provide access to islands and ancient ruins.

After outdoor activities or sightseeing, travellers can visit a hammam for a traditional Turkish bath experience in either modern hotels or historic city centre facilities.

Mersin and Antalya also serve as urban centres with festivals such as an international music event in Mersin and Türkiye’s main international film festival in Antalya. Shopping ranges from large malls to small craft stores. Cafés, bars, seafood restaurants by the sea, nightclubs, and live music venues contribute to local nightlife.

The region is recognized for citrus fruit production including bananas. The most active tourist months are July and August; May, June, and September are also recommended for visits.
