Sun Princess, the latest vessel from Princess Cruises, has been recognized as a 2025 Good Housekeeping Family Travel Award Winner. This award follows its previous accolade as Condé Nast Traveler’s Mega Ship of the Year. The full feature on this recognition is available at goodhousekeeping.com/familytravel2025.

The Good Housekeeping Family Travel Awards highlight destinations and experiences that provide value, quality, and enjoyment for families traveling together. The selection process involved expert reviews, consumer feedback, and testing by Good Housekeeping’s editorial team. Sun Princess was noted for its mix of innovation, luxury, and entertainment.

John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises, stated: “We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from one of the most trusted names in family recommendations.” He emphasized the ship’s design to foster unforgettable experiences at sea for families.

Sun Princess introduces the Sphere Class ship platform designed exclusively for Princess Cruises. It recently completed an inaugural Mediterranean cruise season and began its Caribbean season in Ft. Lauderdale last month. Its sister ship, Star Princess, will join in Fall 2025 before transitioning to Alaskan voyages in Spring 2026.

The ship features spacious venues such as The Dome—a glass-enclosed structure inspired by Santorini terraces—and a suspended Sphere Atrium that serves as a central hub with expansive ocean views.

For younger guests, Sun Princess offers supervised clubs like Firefly Park for young children and Neon Grove and Underground for tweens and teens. These areas include various activities like art projects and gaming consoles.

Additional features include 30 restaurant and bar venues with celebrity collaborations such as Spellbound by Magic Castle and Makoto Ocean sushi by Chef Makoto Okuwa. Entertainment options include performances at The Princess Arena theater and Cirque Éloize shows in The Dome.

Princess Cruises continues to offer personalized service through its MedallionClass technology.
