Princess Cruises has announced new features for the Star Princess, the second ship in its Sphere Class line, which is set to launch in fall 2025. This vessel, a replica of the Sun Princess currently sailing from Ft. Lauderdale, will introduce several enhancements including non-smoking casino areas and expanded dining options.

The Star Princess will accommodate 4,300 guests and weigh 178,000 tons. It will also run on liquefied natural gas (LNG), showcasing the company’s focus on sustainability. The ship’s design will mirror that of the Sun Princess and include advanced features like The Dome and The Sphere.

“After the overwhelming response to Sun Princess, we are excited to debut her sister ship, Star Princess, with added enhancements to elevate the guest experience,” stated John Padgett, President of Princess Cruises. He added that these enhancements would provide an unforgettable vacation for all guests when the ship launches.

Key features aboard the Star Princess include:

– Expanded Non-Smoking Casino Areas: An additional 68 slot machines will be available in non-smoking sections.

– O’Malley’s Irish Pub Expansion: This venue will add 32 seats for guests enjoying traditional Irish fare and drinks.

– Expanded Love by Britto: This art-inspired dining space will offer 20 more seats for its seven-course fusion menu.

– New SkyDeck Sports Court & Track: Guests can engage in sports like pickleball and basketball or relax in shaded areas.

The ship offers a range of accommodations with over 2,000 staterooms including suites and balcony cabins. The Sanctuary Collection provides a luxury experience on the top deck with private dining and relaxation spaces available for suite guests.

Star Princess will begin its service with Caribbean cruises before moving to Alaska in spring 2026. Bookings are open now for these voyages.
