Africa’s first Glamping Expo is scheduled to take place on June 20-21, 2025, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre (Nasrec). The event aims to bring together key players from the glamping industry, including suppliers, operators, and financiers. It will highlight how glamping combines glamour and camping with sustainability and unique travel experiences.

The expo is themed “Reimagining Innovation & Regenerative Tourism” and seeks to showcase eco-conscious travel trends. According to Grand View Research, South Africa’s glamping market generated USD 65.8 million in revenue in 2024 and is expected to reach USD 89.5 million by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.2% from 2025 to 2030.

Gugu Sithole, Glamping Expo Lead, stated: “The Glamping Expo will convene a wide range of players across the glamping value chain… We’re thrilled to host Africa’s very first Glamping Expo.”

South African Tourism and Gauteng Tourism Authority are key partners in this initiative. Darryl Erasmus of South African Tourism remarked: “We are proud to support South Africa’s first ever Glamping Expo… It’s also a powerful driver for sustainable travel.”

The expo will feature notable figures such as Faith Meyer and Frank De Lima among others. An advisory board including Dr. Eddy Khosa and Paul Gardiner will guide the event’s program.

Attendees can expect exhibitions from leading providers, keynote addresses on regenerative tourism, and workshops on sustainable travel experiences.

Exhibitor registration is now open via www.glampingexpo.africa.
