Bangkok, Thailand – Six Senses has announced a hotel management agreement with Narai Hospitality Group to establish Six Senses Bangkok. This new venture will be part of Hatai, a mixed-use development located on the site of the historic Narai Hotel in Silom.
The Narai Hotel, which began operations in 1968, played a significant role in shaping Silom’s skyline and became known for its exceptional service. In collaboration with Narai Hospitality Group, Six Senses is set to continue this legacy.
Construction is already underway with designs by Heatherwick Studio. The project aims to create a “lantern quarter” that reflects Bangkok’s cultural heritage through sustainable design. The hotel will feature around 100 rooms and suites and aims for LEED Gold and WELL Gold certifications. Original materials from the Narai Hotel will be repurposed into the new interior design.
Joyce Wang will oversee the design of a 700-square-meter suite and signature restaurant, while BAR Studio handles interior design throughout the property. Additional amenities include a rooftop pool and Six Senses Spa Bangkok.
Six Senses Bangkok marks an expansion of the brand within Thailand, joining existing locations such as Six Senses Samui and Six Senses Yao Noi. Neil Palmer, Chief Operating Officer of Six Senses, stated: “It’s a privilege to honor the legacy of Narai Hotel in such a culturally significant and storied location.”
Nathee Nithivasin, CEO of Narai Hospitality Group, remarked: “Six Senses was the ideal partner for Hatai because of our shared dedication to emotional hospitality.”
Located on Silom Road, Six Senses Bangkok is one of two hotels planned for Hatai and will offer retail spaces and dining experiences across nearly 6,000 square meters. It will be accessible via BTS and MRT networks with nearby attractions like Sri Maha Mariamman Temple.
As part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury portfolio, this project contributes to their presence in Thailand where they currently operate 40 hotels with more planned.
The opening is scheduled shortly after the original hotel’s 60th anniversary in 2028.
