Royal Caribbean Group recently observed World Oceans Day with a series of interactive activities aimed at promoting ocean conservation. The initiatives included onboard events, digital campaigns, and community projects that focused on sea turtle conservation and ocean health. A key event was Shell Week, a collaboration between Royal Caribbean Group and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), which combined educational elements with entertainment to highlight the significance of sea turtles.

An Instagram bracket-style tournament featured various sea turtles such as Harry the Hawksbill and Luca the Loggerhead, among others. Each turtle was voiced by Royal Caribbean employees, turning it into an engaging way to promote conservation awareness. Instagram followers were also invited to participate in a sweepstakes for a chance to spend a day with a WWF scientist learning about sea turtle conservation in South Florida.

Visitors to shellweek.com had the opportunity to donate towards WWF’s ocean conservation efforts globally. In addition to online activities, hands-on environmental efforts took place including beach cleanups at Crandon Park Nature Center in Key Biscayne, Florida.

The group’s social media channels played an integral role throughout the week by sharing daily videos and updates on conservation progress. Followers were encouraged to take part through donations or volunteering.

For guests cruising during World Oceans Day and June, Royal Caribbean offered digital experiences via their app where participants could earn badges by engaging in educational activities about marine ecosystems.

Through these initiatives, Royal Caribbean Group highlighted its commitment to environmental stewardship while making marine conservation education accessible and enjoyable for all ages.
