Princess Cruises has announced an updated version of its Spellbound by Magic Castle experience, set to debut on the new Star Princess ship. The immersive venue, created in partnership with Hollywood’s Magic Castle, will feature a theme inspired by the golden age of magic and pay tribute to renowned magician Richard Valentine Pitchford, known as Cardini.

The Spellbound venue will include several newly designed spaces such as a ticketing booth, Inner Circle, Cardini Bar, Backstage area, and Peacock Theater. Each area is designed with detailed décor and lighting to enhance the magical atmosphere.

A new cocktail menu exclusive to the Cardini Bar will be introduced, offering drinks crafted specifically for this venue. Examples include The Inner Circle—a milk-washed vodka cocktail with jasmine tea—and Cardini—a butter-washed rum Old Fashioned.

“Spellbound has quickly become one of the most talked-about experiences at sea, and we’re thrilled to take it to the next level aboard Star Princess,” said Lorna Warren, Princess Cruises Vice President Hotel Operations and Guest Experiences. “By bringing to life the spirit and setting of the original Magic Castle in Hollywood, our reimagined speakeasy will deliver a one-of-a-kind venue where every guest can feel like they’ve stepped into a world of true magic.”

The experience will be available to all guests on Star Princess with multiple showtimes each night. Admission is $45 per person and includes two signature cocktails and a magic show. Tickets can be purchased in advance at http://www.princess.com/ or onboard.

Unlike previous versions of Spellbound, dinner service will not be offered before showtime. Guests are advised to dine at least two hours before their reservation.

Star Princess is currently being completed at Fincantieri shipyard. The vessel will accommodate 4,300 guests across various stateroom categories including Sanctuary Collection suites and mini-suites. It will offer more than 30 dining and bar venues along with entertainment options such as The Dome relaxation space, Princess Arena theater, and The Piazza central atrium featuring large windows for ocean views.

The ship’s inaugural season will include cruises in regions such as the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Panama Canal, and Alaska. Bookings are open now at www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ships/st-star-princess.

Princess Cruises operates globally with ships traveling to destinations including Europe, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, South America, Antarctica, Hawaii, Canada/New England and others. Sun Princess was recently named Mega Ship of the Year by Condé Nast Traveler (https://www.cntraveler.com/story/readers-choice-awards-2023-mega-ships), introducing Sphere Class design which Star Princess will also feature when it launches in fall 2025.
