Visit Mississippi has announced the launch of its new podcast, “Mississippi on the Map,” with its first episode released today. Hosted by Mississippi native and country music artist Charlie Worsham, the podcast aims to explore the culture, creativity, and community that define the Magnolia State.

The series will release new episodes every other week through October. The 12-episode first season will feature candid conversations with a diverse roster of guests, including Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman, country music icons Chris Stapleton and Marty Stuart, as well as civic and cultural leaders from across Mississippi and beyond.

“Our goal with ‘Mississippi on the Map’ is to tell meaningful stories that inspire pride, curiosity and connection,” said Rochelle Hicks, Director of Visit Mississippi. “From our rich musical legacy to the remarkable individuals making a difference today, this podcast captures what makes Mississippi so special.”

Episodes are available in both video and audio formats via major platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. Listeners can also explore content and follow along via official website links and social media channels.

In addition to interviews, the podcast will offer teaser reels, behind-the-scenes clips, and shareable highlights to encourage engagement across digital platforms. Each episode connects back to Visit Mississippi’s website as part of broader tourism initiatives.

Season One highlights include:

– May 14: Ketch Secor from Old Crow Medicine Show (Part 1)
– June 11: GRAMMY Award-winning artist Mac McAnally
– June 25: Actor and philanthropist Morgan Freeman
– August 6: Country music legend Marty Stuart
– September 3: Singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton

Additional guests will be announced throughout the season. Through “Mississippi on the Map,” Visit Mississippi aims to amplify voices shaping the state’s identity while reinforcing its standing as a dynamic destination.

“Mississippi on the Map” goes beyond interviews by diving into musical heritage and cultural identity. It positions Mississippi as a key player in America’s musical landscape. The show is distributed across Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, supported by social media storytelling.

Visit Mississippi operates under the Mississippi Development Authority as an official marketing organization for state tourism. It promotes leisure travel while enhancing visitor experiences to drive economic growth by highlighting history, culture, scenic beauty, and hospitality.
