The heat of summer calls for refreshing beverages, and a new martini is promising to be the perfect companion. Ariel Arce, a New York entrepreneur known for establishments like Niche Niche and Tokyo Record Bar, has collaborated with Hilton on the StiR Creative Collective project at Leonessa in Conrad New York Downtown. Her contribution is a cocktail program inspired by Italian drinking culture.

Ariel’s creation, the Leonessa Martini, captures the essence of summer with its citrus-forward profile. It features Portofino dry gin, Mancino Secco, orange bitters, lemon bitters, and is garnished with a lemon twist and olive. The recipe reflects the influence of aperitivo hour and the vibrant citrus trees found in Italy.

For those unable to visit New York this season, Ariel shares the recipe for her signature drink. To prepare it at home, start by chilling your martini glass. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, stir until chilled, then strain into the prepared glass before adding garnishes.

This martini offers a taste of Italian summer no matter where you are.
