Geneva, Switzerland – MSC Cruises has made its cinematic debut with the release of “F1 THE MOVIE,” a racing drama starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. The film features MSC Cruises’ branding prominently as part of a fictional Formula 1 team.
The cruise line collaborated with Apple Original Films, director Joseph Kosinski, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer for this project. The movie showcases MSC Cruises’ logo on race cars, uniforms, and drivers’ overalls within the storyline.
Filming took place during actual Formula 1 Grand Prix events in recent seasons. This collaboration is an extension of MSC Cruises’ global partnership with Formula 1 that began in 2022. Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of the Cruise Division at MSC Group, remarked on the film’s alignment with their values: “This film captures the same spirit that drives our people on board and ashore every day: world-class performance, precision, and teamwork.”
MSC Group has also announced a multi-year extension of its Global Partnership with Formula 1 through to 2030. This includes title races, trackside branding, and hospitality activities. Additionally, Explora Journeys will feature in signage at select Grands Prix.
“F1 THE MOVIE” is now available in theaters worldwide from June 25 and will be released in North America on June 27.
MSC Cruises is headquartered in Geneva and operates globally with a fleet of modern ships offering cruises across five continents.
The movie is presented by Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures.
