Croatia has received new accolades in the culinary world with the announcement of the latest MICHELIN guide selection. The country now boasts one restaurant with two MICHELIN stars and 12 restaurants with one star. Notably, Krug in Split and Cap Aureo in Rovinj have been awarded new stars, while Agli Amici in Rovinj retained its two-star status. Other restaurants that maintained their one-star rating include Dubravkin put (Zagreb), Pelegrini (Šibenik), 360º (Dubrovnik), Monte (Rovinj), Noel (Zagreb), Boškinac (Novalja), LD Restaurant (Korčula), Nebo (Rijeka), Alfred Keller (Mali Lošinj) and Korak (Jastrebarsko).
Tonči Glavina, Minister of Tourism and Sports, commented on the achievement: “Another edition of the MICHELIN guide has confirmed the quality of Croatian gastronomy and the excellence of our chefs, who are recognized and acknowledged on a global level.” He emphasized that Croatia’s wine and gastronomy are integral to its tourism strategy.
The MICHELIN Green Star label for sustainability was retained by Zinfandel’s in Zagreb, Konoba Mate in Korčula, and Korak in Jastrebarsko. Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, expressed satisfaction with these recognitions: “As the main MICHELIN destination partner for Croatia, we are extremely pleased with the new selection and prestigious labels awarded to our restaurants.”
Additionally, Konoba Pescaria in Mošćenička Draga and K.užina in Split were added to the Bib Gourmand list. This brings Croatia’s total to 12 restaurants offering quality menus at affordable prices.
Special awards were also announced this year. Gabriela Filca from Nebo by Deni Srdoč received recognition as a young chef; Vera Korak from Korak restaurant was honored for service quality; and Dinko Lozica from LD restaurant was awarded for sommelier skills.
These accolades result from secret inspections by professional MICHELIN inspectors.
