Washington, D.C., known for its diverse culinary scene, now hosts a new dining experience with the opening of Marcus DC at The Morrow Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton. This venture is a collaboration with chef Marcus Samuelsson and features three dining venues: Sly, Marcus DC, and the upcoming Goodie Lounge.
Marcus DC offers a menu that blends modern American cuisine with Black culinary traditions from various regions. Signature dishes include Blue Cornbread with Yassa butter and berbere honey, mambo-sauced roast chicken, dry-aged tomahawk steak, and “Swediopian” cured salmon. Executive Chef Anthony Jones contributes Maryland-inspired dishes like Mel’s Crab Rice.
The restaurant’s interior is designed to provide an immersive experience that celebrates heritage and hospitality.
Sly, the rooftop bar at The Morrow Hotel, provides skyline views and inventive cocktails such as the Lychee Martini or Blackberry Old Fashioned. It serves as a venue for enjoying sunsets while sipping under the stars.
Goodie Lounge will open later this year on the hotel’s 11th floor. It will function as both a cocktail lounge and private event space. The venue promises panoramic views and a cocktail program influenced by heritage and innovation.
The Morrow Hotel aims to enhance its food offerings through these new venues in Washington’s NoMa neighborhood.
