Illinois Office of Tourism announces new small businesses inducted into Illinois Made program

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), Office of Tourism, has announced the induction of 20 new small businesses into the Illinois Made program. This annual selection recognizes locally owned businesses, known as Illinois Made Makers, whose products and experiences reflect Illinois’ craftsmanship and culture.

This year’s inductees include diverse businesses such as U-pick lavender fields in Edwardsville, handcrafted string instruments in Geneva, and a Mexican café in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. DCEO Director Kristin Richards commented on the importance of these businesses: “Small businesses are the heartbeat of Illinois’ economy, and the Illinois Made program supports the local artisans who help define our state’s unique character.” She further emphasized that this year’s class showcases creativity found throughout the state.

Since its inception in 2016, the Illinois Made program has grown to include 277 Makers. The newly inducted businesses cover various regions across Illinois:

– Bee Coco Candle – Geneva
– CrumbCrusherCupcakes – Oak Park
– Fill My Jar LLC – Brookfield
– Gerry’s Cafe – Arlington Heights
– Go Brewing – Naperville
– La Catedral Café & Restaurant – Chicago
– Lyon & Healy Harps – Chicago
– New Moon Vegan – Batavia
– Noon Whistle Brewing – Lombard, Naperville
– Primitives by Olde Lady Morgan – Bartlett
– Rosewood Farm – Sugar Grove
– Soapy Roads – Lombard
– StringWorks Inc. – Geneva

Other notable mentions include Leaf Livestock Wool Co. in Geneseo, Tenderloin Farms Lavender in Edwardsville, Tres Rojas Winery in Washington, Sarah Beth’s Homemade Dips LLC in Hanna City, Ceramics Made by Rosie and Whimsy Tea Company both located in Springfield, and Pink Tiger Farm in Goreville.
