IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Crowne Plaza Lagos Ikeja, a new 119-room hotel set to open in early 2028. The hotel will operate under a franchise agreement with Watercress Hotel International Limited and be managed by Valor Hospitality Partners. This move is part of IHG’s strategy to expand its presence across Africa.
Located in Lagos’ Ikeja district, the hotel will provide easy access to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Alausa Secretariat, and other key locations. It aims to cater to international business travelers, government delegations, and leisure guests. Guests will have access to local attractions such as Nike Art Gallery and coastal sites like Tarkwa Bay Beach.
The hotel will feature Crowne Plaza’s signature elements, including the next-generation Plaza Workspace and WorkLife Rooms designed for comfort and functionality.
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director at IHG Hotels & Resorts for India, Middle East & Africa, stated: “Lagos is one of Africa’s most influential commercial and cultural centres, and we are pleased to expand our presence in this strategic market with the signing of Crowne Plaza Lagos Ikeja.”
Samuel Ayinde from Watercress Hotel International Limited expressed pride in partnering with IHG: “Our vision for this property is to create a landmark hotel that reflects the energy and ambition of Lagos.”
Upon opening, Crowne Plaza Lagos Ikeja will join over 400 Crowne Plaza hotels worldwide. The brand is known for its contemporary design and guest-centric approach.
