IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a management agreement with PT Mustika Adiperkasa and GHS K.K to introduce the first Kimpton hotel in Indonesia. The new establishment, Kimpton Bali Ubud, is set to open in early 2026. This will also be the first IHG hotel in Ubud, Bali, as part of IHG’s expansion of its luxury and lifestyle offerings across Indonesia.

Kimpton is recognized for its unique design and hospitality experiences worldwide. Each property aims to foster human connections through personalized guest experiences. Kimpton Bali Ubud will feature 101 rooms designed to integrate with Ubud’s natural surroundings along the sacred WOS River. It will be one of the few internationally-branded hotels within walking distance of Ubud Palace.

The hotel will offer several dining options, including IMAMURA, a restaurant created in partnership with GHS K.K. Michelin-starred Chef Imamura will lead the restaurant, which promises a blend of traditional Japanese cuisine and modern innovation.

Satoru Kondo, President of GHS K.K., stated: “We’ve built a strong partnership with IHG with hotels across Japan and are excited to now further that relationship through the introduction of the Kimpton brand to Bali.”

Rajit Sukumaran, SVP & Managing Director for East Asia & Pacific at IHG Hotels & Resorts, added: “It’s great to continue to expand our partnership with GHS K.K. Kimpton Bali Ubud which marks the continued momentum in our luxury & lifestyle growth in Indonesia.”

Ubud is located about 90 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport and offers cultural attractions such as the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary and Tegallalang Rice Terraces.

Kimpton Bali Ubud will include three restaurants, a café/deli, wellness amenities like a gym and spa, providing both cultural immersion and relaxation opportunities for guests.

Indonesia remains a growing market for IHG with 31 existing hotels and 11 more planned. The addition of Kimpton Bali Ubud strengthens IHG’s luxury presence alongside other properties like Regent Bali Canggu.

Founded by Bill Kimpton in San Francisco in 1981, Kimpton has expanded globally into Asia with properties like Kimpton Da’An Taipei. Upcoming openings include locations in Kuala Lumpur, Frankfurt, Marbella, Riyadh, Hainan, Crete, and Hong Kong.
