IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to expand its voco hotels brand into Phuket, Thailand. The company is partnering with AssetWise Public Company Limited and its subsidiary Rhom Bho Property Public Company Limited for the project.
The new property, named voco Phuket Bangtao, is scheduled to open in 2029 and will feature 175 rooms. It will be located in Bangtao on the west coast of Phuket, an area recognized for its beaches, nightlife, and dining options. This hotel marks the third signing for voco hotels in Thailand and the first in Phuket. Since its launch in 2018, the voco brand has grown to more than 180 open and pipeline properties worldwide.

The upcoming hotel will include facilities such as a restaurant, lounge and bar, spa, swimming pool, and fitness centre. Located about 30 minutes from Phuket International Airport by car, it aims to serve guests seeking both leisure activities and convenient access.
IHG currently operates 40 hotels across nine brands in Thailand with another 41 properties planned or under development. The company views Thailand as an important growth market where it intends to double its portfolio over coming years. The debut of voco Bangkok Surawong later this year will mark the brand’s entry into Thailand.
