IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a franchise agreement with Senegindia SA to introduce the Holiday Inn brand to Senegal. The new hotel, named Holiday Inn SD City Dakar, is set to open in 2027 and will be managed by Valor Hospitality Partners. This marks a significant step in IHG’s expansion strategy in West Africa.

The hotel will be part of the Diamniadio urban project, aligning with Dakar’s Sustainable Development master plan. It will be located near key sites such as Blaise Diagne International Airport and the Adbou Diouf International Conference Centre, catering to both business and leisure travelers.

Holiday Inn SD City Dakar will feature the brand’s next-generation Open Lobby concept, offering a flexible space for guests. The hotel is part of a mixed-use development and aims to provide modern comfort and accessibility.

Haitham Mattar, Managing Director of IHG Hotels & Resorts IMEA, stated: “Bringing Holiday Inn to SD City Dakar with Senegindia SA is an exciting new venture for IHG Hotels & Resorts. We are enthusiastic about the market as it is the capital of a country that perfectly aligns with our strategic growth plans in Africa.”

A spokesperson from Serengidia SA commented: “We are proud to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts to bring the renowned Holiday Inn brand to Dakar. This development represents a significant milestone not only for our organisation but also for Senegal’s growing hospitality landscape.”

Once operational, Holiday Inn SD City Dakar will join over 1,200 Holiday Inn hotels worldwide, maintaining its reputation for warm service and modern design.
