Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality firm, has announced a new hotel project in Mysuru. The greenfield venture will be branded as Vivanta, marking IHCL’s continued expansion in the region.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate & Development at IHCL, commented on the development: “Mysuru, with its rich cultural heritage and a diverse economy spanning manufacturing, education, and tourism, continues to evolve as a key urban centre. Enhanced connectivity through recent infrastructure developments like the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway is further boosting travel and tourism in the region. This signing is in line with our strategy to expanding in fast-growing economic and cultural destinations. We are delighted to partner with the Farah Group on this project.”
The 115-key Vivanta hotel will be strategically located near Mysuru’s Hebbal Industrial Area. It will feature an all-day dining restaurant and bar, along with amenities such as a gym and swimming pool. The facility will also include meeting and event spaces suitable for business conferences and social events.
Liaquath Ali Khan from Farah Builders expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are proud to partner with IHCL to bring the Vivanta brand to Mysuru. This hotel will serve as a contemporary hub for the city’s growing hospitality needs.”
Mysuru is known for its royal heritage sites such as Mysuru Palace, Chamundi Hills, and Brindavan Gardens. With this addition, IHCL will operate 26 hotels across Karnataka.
Farah Group was founded by Sadath Ali Khan and has been influential in Bangalore’s real estate market for five decades. Under Liaquath Ali Khan’s leadership, it has expanded into commercial sectors and now hospitality.
IHCL offers a range of brands including Taj, Claridges Collection, SeleQtions, Tree of Life, Vivanta, Gateway, and Ginger. Founded by Jamsetji Tata of Tata Group fame in 1903 with The Taj Mahal Palace in Bombay as its first hotel; IHCL today manages 388 hotels globally.
