Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown, marking the return of the Hyatt Regency brand to Malaysia’s capital. This new property is now the seventh Hyatt hotel in Kuala Lumpur and aims to strengthen the company’s presence in important global markets.

Located in KL Midtown, the hotel provides convenient access to business districts, cultural landmarks, shopping areas, and entertainment venues. Its proximity to major suburban freeways and walking distance from the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) makes it accessible for both business travelers attending conferences and leisure guests exploring Kuala Lumpur.

The building was designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, known for integrating natural materials like wood, stone, and paper into his projects. According to Till Martin, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown: “We are delighted to introduce Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown—a hotel that redefines urban hospitality through exceptional design, thoughtful amenities and an unparalleled location. With Kengo Kuma’s inspiring architecture and our commitment to offering a thoughtfully curated experience, we are poised to deliver a lasting impression for both business and leisure travelers. We aim to cultivate a dynamic hub for global events, fostering connections and elevating the city’s status as a premier destination for business, convention, lifestyle and tourism hub.”

The hotel features 410 accommodations with 306 guestrooms and suites along with 104 fully serviced residences. The variety includes 15 room types and 22 suites such as King Rooms, Twin Rooms, Regency Club Rooms, Diplomatic Suites, and a Presidential Suite. Guests booking Regency Club rooms have access to the Regency Club Lounge with daily breakfast, afternoon refreshments, and evening cocktails.

Serviced residences offer private entrances with dedicated drop-off areas. Options include one- or two-bedroom apartments equipped with kitchenettes and separate dining/living spaces.

Dining options span four venues emphasizing local flavors and sustainable sourcing practices. Jonas Juchli, Executive Chef at the property said: “Our culinary philosophy is rooted in two unwavering commitments: authenticity and responsibility. We begin by deeply understanding Malaysian tastes while preserving time-honoured cooking methods. Every ingredient is sourced sustainably—from local farms to ethical fisheries. Leading this mission is our world-class culinary team of Peking Duck masters , sushi artisans versed in Edo-era traditions and pastry chefs who elevate heritage recipes. Together, we blend ancestral wisdom with modern precision to create dishes that are both genuine and innovative.”

Among these venues are Midtown Brasserie for all-day meals; Midtown Lounge specializing in afternoon tea; China House focusing on Northern Chinese cuisine; and ENSŌ Izakaya & Bar offering Japanese dishes alongside premium sake collections.

For meetings or events, there are 16 flexible function rooms including a pillarless ballroom across three floors. The Courtyard offers an outdoor space suitable for networking breaks.

Recreational facilities include infinity pools on both the fifth floor (for hotel guests) and 32nd floor (for residence guests), monitored by certified lifeguards using eco-friendly saltwater systems. Additional amenities comprise a residents’ lounge on the 32nd floor, Kidz Club staffed by dedicated personnel providing activities for children, as well as a 24-hour fitness center equipped with modern machines where personal trainers can be requested.

World of Hyatt members can earn bonus points for stays completed between August 26–November 30, 2025 at this new location without needing prior registration (more details available at https://worldofhyatt.com/newhotelbonus).

Hyatt Hotels Corporation operates over 1,450 hotels across more than 80 countries worldwide as of June 30, 2025.
