Hyatt House opens its first Australian property in South Melbourne

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Hyatt House South Melbourne, marking the debut of the Hyatt House brand in Australia. The new hotel, a joint venture led by Holder East Pty Ltd., is operated by Hyatt and offers 97 residential-style rooms. These accommodations include fully equipped kitchens, spacious studios, one-bedroom suites, and accessible room options designed for comfort and flexibility.

The hotel is among the first in Melbourne to welcome dogs and cats up to 66 lbs, catering to pet owners seeking a seamless travel experience with their pets. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast, as well as a 24-hour market serving freshly prepared meals. The Bar offers specialty coffees alongside premium beers, wines, and cocktails.

Located near key attractions such as Albert Park Lake and Royal Botanic Gardens, the hotel suits solo travelers, families, hybrid workers, and corporate guests seeking extended stays. Amenities include a 24/7 fitness center with strength-training and cardio equipment.

Hyatt’s loyalty program members can earn up to 16,000 bonus points on eligible nights at participating hotels from June 10 through September 7. Additionally, members have an opportunity to earn 500 bonus points for qualifying nights at this location from July 1 through September 30 without needing registration.
