Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced key leadership changes aimed at aligning its structure with a focus on brand growth, particularly in the all-inclusive segment. Effective July 1, 2025, Marc Jacheet has taken over as Group President for Europe, Africa & Middle East (EAME), succeeding Javier Águila. This transition follows a period of knowledge-sharing between Jacheet and Águila, who had led the EAME region since 2022.
Javier Águila will now concentrate on leading Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection globally. This move underscores Hyatt’s commitment to expanding its presence in the all-inclusive market. Recent strategic moves include the acquisition of Playa Hotels & Resorts and a joint venture with Grupo Piñero to manage Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts-branded properties.
Jim Chu, previously Chief Growth Officer since 2022, has transitioned to Head of Owner Relations as of July 1. During this transition period, Mark Hoplamazian, Hyatt’s President and CEO, will assume the responsibilities of Chief Growth Officer on an interim basis.
“These leadership changes reflect Hyatt’s commitment to evolving our structure and aligning top talent with our most significant opportunities,” said Mark Hoplamazian. He emphasized the strategic importance of the all-inclusive business and expressed confidence in the new team’s ability to execute Hyatt’s growth strategy.
Hyatt reported industry-leading net rooms growth for eight consecutive years through 2024 and maintains a pipeline of approximately 138,000 rooms as of early 2025.
