As the England Lionesses prepare to leave Hilton at St George’s Park for Switzerland, a large-scale message of support has been unveiled on the hotel grounds by Hilton, the Official Hotel Partner of the England Teams. The display, crafted from nearly 10,000 towels and measuring 41 meters wide by 29 meters high, took 36 hours to complete.

The art installation was created by a team including hotel staff who regularly provide hospitality to the Lionesses. So far in 2025, the team has accumulated over 1,000 stays at this Hilton location. During these stays, the hotel has provided over 10,304 pillows fluffed and 20,304 towels rolled to ensure comfort for the players.

The display features a lioness’s face made using various towel techniques: 7,500 rolled towels, 2,250 folded towels, and 250 artistically fanned towels. Ella Toone of the Lionesses expressed her appreciation for this gesture: “I couldn’t think of a better send off! We spend so much time away from home, but Hilton is where we find calm, comfort, and a bit of normality.”

Stijn Bastiaens of Hilton stated: “At Hilton, we know that it matters where you stay – and never more so than when the Lionesses stay with us during training camps.”

Fans have until July 7th to create their own messages of support through special booths at select Hilton hotels across the country. This initiative is part of Hilton’s three-year partnership with The Football Association.

Hilton Honors members can enjoy exclusive perks and access major events through their loyalty program. Most of the towels used in the display will be recycled or donated as part of Hilton’s sustainability efforts.
