Hilton has announced plans to introduce its premium economy brand, Spark by Hilton, in Puerto Rico. The new hotel, Spark by Hilton Ponce, is set to open in late 2025 in Ponce, Puerto Rico’s second-largest city. This marks the debut of the brand in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Pablo Maturana, vice president of development for the Caribbean and Latin America at Hilton, stated: “We are proud to launch the groundbreaking Spark by Hilton brand in the Caribbean and Latin America, redefining the premium economy segment with a conversion-friendly brand that provides a unique combination of value, quality and consistency for both guests and owners.”

Miguel Vega, president of HI Development P.R. Corp., expressed excitement about adding Spark by Hilton to their hotel portfolio.

The hotel will be located near Ponce International Airport and Highway 52. It will feature 120 rooms, meeting space, a breakfast area, and an outdoor pool. Guests can expect amenities such as in-room refrigerators and complimentary breakfast.

Alissa Klees, global brand leader for Spark by Hilton, said: “We built Spark by Hilton on the belief that simplicity is powerful.”

Spark by Hilton Ponce will join more than 10 existing Hilton hotels in Puerto Rico. The company aims to double its presence on the island within four years.

As part of its expansion strategy, Hilton plans to grow its portfolio across the Caribbean and Latin America. Currently, there are approximately 290 hotels with over 145 under design or construction.

Guests at Spark by Hilton will benefit from the Hilton Honors loyalty program.
