The Healey-Driscoll Administration has announced the launch of an official online store for Massachusetts 250 merchandise. The new shop features apparel and accessories designed to commemorate the state’s role in American history as the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of its independence.
Governor Maura Healey stated, “Massachusetts 250 is more than a tribute to the past –it’s a call to honor our incredible communities, highlight our state’s contributions to the nation’s founding, and create opportunities for future leaders. With the opening of our store, we’re inviting everyone to join us in celebrating this legacy and wearing this merchandise that brings our history to life.”
Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll added, “We may not be selling waistcoats, breeches and definitely no red coats, but there will be plenty of hats, hoodies and T-shirts to wear to re-enactments across the state. The shop offers everyone a chance to engage with and proudly wear the Massachusetts 250 brand — a way to show their love for Massachusetts while honoring our essential role in the American Revolution.”
Proceeds from sales will go toward marketing programs and attractions related to Massachusetts 250 events. The collection includes items suited for New England weather as well as commemorative keepsakes intended for residents, visitors, and history enthusiasts.
Kate Fox, Executive Director at the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, said: “At massachusetts250.org, visitors can learn about ongoing efforts and discover resources on how to get involved. The initiative emphasizes four main goals: honoring Massachusetts leadership in American history, ensuring an inclusive commemoration through local storytelling, engaging young people in meaningful activities, and unifying efforts statewide through collaborations with historical organizations, community groups, and educators.”
