Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park is marking its 70th anniversary, celebrating a legacy that began on August 14, 1955. The park has been recognized as one of the first oceanariums in the world and has become a key center for marine education, animal rescue, and community engagement along the Emerald Coast.

Patrick Berry, CEO at the Gulfarium, commented on the occasion: “We’re incredibly proud to celebrate 70 years of inspiring connections between people and marine life. This milestone is not just about our past—it’s about our future. We’re looking forward to a year filled with community celebration, conservation, and meaningful moments with our animals and guests.”

The park’s anniversary celebrations start in August and will run throughout the year. Events include an Anniversary Membership Sale from August 10–17, offering reduced pricing on annual memberships for unlimited visits. Special Admission Days are scheduled for August 16–17, where guests can enter for $19.55—the same price as when the park opened in 1955. Additional members-only events and community programs are planned.

Recent developments at Gulfarium include the opening of Dolphin Oasis in 2023—a $24 million expansion designed to improve habitats and visitor experiences—and Manatee Cove, a $3.5 million facility created with support from the Manatee Rescue and Rehabilitation Partnership (MRP). Manatee Cove now provides long-term care for rescued manatees such as Romeo, who is notable for being over 70 years old.

Since launching its C.A.R.E. Center in 2015, Gulfarium has played an active role in rescuing and rehabilitating endangered sea turtles along the Gulf Coast.

The park remains committed to its mission of education, entertainment, and inspiration through marine life experiences.
