Delta Air Lines has released a statement following the announcement of a new trade agreement between the United States and the European Union. The company responded to the news by emphasizing the significance of maintaining a zero-tariff policy on aircraft and component parts, which has been in effect for over four decades.

“The US/EU trade agreement reached between President Trump and EU leadership is welcome news given it preserves a zero-tariff environment on aircraft and component parts, a reciprocal policy that’s been in place for over 40 years. This important step in the President’s trade negotiations will help protect and continue to grow the role of air travel as a driver of U.S. economic growth, innovation, and high-quality jobs, while protecting the $104 billion annual US trade surplus in the aerospace industry.”

The agreement is expected to support continued growth in air travel’s contribution to the U.S. economy and help sustain jobs related to aviation. Delta highlighted that preserving this long-standing reciprocal tariff policy helps safeguard a substantial annual trade surplus for the U.S. aerospace sector.
