Delta Air Lines is encouraging SkyMiles Members to take advantage of several opportunities to maximize their loyalty program benefits as the year progresses. The airline’s SkyMiles program allows members to earn Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) through various activities, including flying with Delta and its partner airlines, spending on eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards, and booking trips. Achieving Medallion Status provides access to benefits such as priority boarding, waived bag fees, and preferred seating.

The MQD thresholds required for 2027 Medallion Status will remain unchanged, allowing members to continue working toward Diamond, Platinum, Gold, or Silver Medallion Status without new requirements next year. Additionally, holders of select Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards receive an automatic $2,500 MQD Headstart per card type each qualification year.

Delta also offers a status match program for travelers who hold elite status with other airlines. This allows them to switch their elite status to Delta at no cost, subject to terms and conditions.

Members can track their progress toward status in the Fly Delta app and learn more about earning MQDs by visiting Delta’s resources online.

Beyond flights, SkyMiles Members can earn miles through partnerships with companies like Uber and Uber Eats. More than one million members have linked their accounts since the partnership began. Linked accounts allow members to automatically earn up to three miles per eligible dollar spent on qualifying rides and food orders in the U.S.

Eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Card Members can receive a statement credit of up to $9.99 per month for Uber One membership when using an eligible card for payment by June 25, 2026. The offer lasts for six or twelve consecutive months depending on the card type.

SkyMiles Dining enables members to earn miles by linking a credit or debit card and dining at participating restaurants nationwide. New users are eligible for bonus miles after their first dine.

Through SkyMiles Shopping, members can turn purchases from over 1,000 online retailers into miles by logging in before shopping. Installing the browser extension notifies users when they can earn additional miles while shopping online.

SkyMiles Members can also benefit from exclusive travel packages through Delta Vacations, as well as earning and redeeming miles on cruises, car rentals, hotels, and short-term rentals.

Additionally, members have access to unique experiences via SkyMiles Experiences—such as throwing out a baseball game’s first pitch or enjoying luxury spa weekends—which are available through bidding with miles. A new feature on SkyMiles Experiences allows select American Express Card Members to bid on exclusive events using their accumulated miles.

Membership in the SkyMiles program is free and includes benefits like fast Wi-Fi provided by T-Mobile on most flights.
