Delta Air Lines has been recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers by State for 2025. The airline achieved the top spot in Georgia, Michigan, and Utah, according to Forbes’ seventh annual ranking. Delta also placed fourth in New York and Massachusetts and eighth in Minnesota. Among the 1,417 companies included in the survey, Delta tied with Costco as the only employer to rank No. 1 in three different states.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Delta has been named No. 1 employer in Georgia and the second consecutive year for Michigan.

Allison Ausband, executive vice president and chief people officer at Delta, was featured as one of two spotlighted company leaders in this year’s results. “Ausband, who is now Delta’s executive vice president and chief people officer, says that this supportive environment is a big part of what makes Delta special for both employees and customers. ‘It sounds very simple, but if you take care of your people, then they’re going to take care of the customer.’

Another way Delta takes care of its employees is by offering them benefits including unlimited standby travel, profit sharing, training opportunities, top-notch healthcare benefits, family care and up to five weeks of paid vacation.”

Forbes developed its list by partnering with a market research firm to survey more than 160,000 employees across U.S.-based companies with at least 500 workers. Employees were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer on a scale from zero to ten and also evaluated other organizations within their industry or personal network over the past two years. Responses came from all 50 states and Washington D.C., with recent data from current employees weighted most heavily in each state.
