The Croatian National Tourist Board’s representative office in Italy recently organized an event in Rome, bringing together key partners and members of the Italian media. The purpose was to share updates on Croatian tourism ahead of the peak season. Luana de Angelis, vice president of the Italian association of travel agencies FIAVET, spoke at the event, recounting her recent study trip to Central Dalmatia. She highlighted the warmth and hospitality experienced, as well as the high-quality service and diverse program offered.
De Angelis praised Croatia for its excellent accommodation, authentic gastronomy, rich cultural offerings, cleanliness, and well-organized destinations. These elements contributed to a positive impression of Croatia as a tourist destination.
Viviana Vukelić, Director of the Italian CNTB Representative Office, stated that Croatia aims to extend its tourism season beyond summer by promoting year-round attractions. These include natural beauty, cultural heritage, eno-gastronomic experiences, health tourism, active pursuits, and business opportunities.
“Italy is one of the most important source markets for Croatia,” said Vukelić. She noted a 7 percent growth in arrivals and a 4 percent increase in overnight stays by Italians during the first six months compared to last year. “Croatia…demonstrates its ambition to further position itself on the market as one of the leading destinations in the Mediterranean that offers unique experiences throughout the year.”
This gathering is part of ongoing activities by CNTB’s office in Italy. It includes meetings with agents from Lazio and plans for various autumn activities such as fair appearances and workshops at TTG Rimini.
