The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens will recognize the work of local first responders with a special event on September 12. On this day, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMT/paramedics are invited to visit the zoo free of charge as part of First Responders Day.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the zoo’s location in Sanford, Florida. As part of the celebration, local first responder agencies will participate with appearances from fire engines and trucks provided by the Sanford Fire Department and Seminole County Fire Department between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Crews will distribute small gifts for children attending the event. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office will also be present, offering sticker badges and allowing guests to see some of their specialized equipment.
To take advantage of this offer, tickets must be purchased at the gate on September 12; online purchases are not available. Proof of employment is required for admission.

According to information provided by the zoo, it houses over 350 animals and operates as a not-for-profit organization focused on conservation efforts and public engagement regarding wildlife.
